The St. Catharines Poltergeist
On the very historic first episode of I Fought the Lore your hosts Ben Macdui and Ricco Sweets (from the mean streets) take a dive into the story of the St. Catharines Poltergeist.
In 1970s St. Catharines, Ontario Canada one family lived on the edge for 28 days as they were seemingly assaulted by a paranormal entity. Not only was this witnessed by the family and their friends, but by police officers for the city as well.
Ben and Ricco take a look at the story and discuss the official police report, which eventually found it's way into the hands of the public.
True? Fake? Who cares. Does the story hold up to scrutiny is the important part.
When we fight the lore of the St. Catharines Poltergeist does it win or does it lose?
Find out in the first episode of I Fought the Lore.

The Spine Tingling Tales of 50 Berkely Square
Join Ben and Ricco as they delve into the tales surrounding Number 50 Berkely Square in jolly ol' London England, where tales of misty maidens and tentacled horrors drive visitors mad in the night.
Thrill at the heroic exploits of those who dared to face the things that dwell in the attic. Cringe at the jokes Ben and Ricco try to make along the way.
Do Ben and Ricco think the lore won, or do they think the lore lost.
All on this thrilling and historic second episode of I Fought the Lore!

Chuper Duper Tales from Puerto Rico
Ben and Ricco take a wrong turn and find out that their mobile command centre can double as a boat, apparently.
But when they find themselves in Puerto Ricco, something finds them as well.

Was it a vampire in Moca?
Was it winged serpent from the jungle?
Was it an alien hybrid with scales and spines?
Or was it Ricco's tinder date?
Will the lore of the goat sucker win or will it lose?

Three Tales of Ghastly Goatyfolk
It's time for a tale of goats and men, Goatmen to be more precise. Three Goatmen to be more precise-er...precise-ier? Whatever.
Just beware of the half man, half goat things that bleat in the night. These three goatyfolk won't freeze and fall over at the slightest noise like their four-legged cousins, they have no interest in doing yoga with you! These Goatmen want to kill you with axes, or lure you onto their bridge and into the path of a train, or appear if you know how to summon them and take you to hell!...or something.
On this historic fourth episode of I Fought the Lore Ben and Ricco bring you three tales of Ghastly Goatmen to tingle your spines and chill your souls.

Noclipping Into The Unknown
No Clipping into the Liminal Spaces.
Where is this place? What is this place? How did we get here? Why does it smell funny? Why didn’t Ricco and Ben bring a snack? Why is Ben T-posing?
Have you ever found yourself in a familiar place after hours and the dim lighting and complete emptiness gives it a foreign feel? Like, it’s not really the place you’ve been to before and you should probably get out in a hurry?
It feels like a place that exists just outside of our reality, maybe waiting to load in.
Ben and Ricco get BACK to basics with a little ROOM for interpretation as they discuss a more modern legend then they are used to.
Something that doesn’t have it’s origins in the late 60s or early 70s? What the hell?
It’s time to get lost with your intrepid hosts in this historic fifth episode of I Fought the Lore.

Halloween, I love this season!
Autumn... the leaves are turning colour, the air is getting cooler, pumpkin spice is in everything.
It's the best time of year, when the veil between the land of the living and the dead gets thin and Ricco's chances of finding a date double. So, why not pull up a chair beside the bonfire, grab a beer or glass of whisky and relax with us while we chat about spooky season.
Where did it come from? Why do people still celebrate it? How did it go from sacrificing animals to kids in mass-produced costumes begging for candy? How did Detroit survive the 70s and 80s?

Cropsey, Real Life Urban Legend
Ben tries to change Ricco's luck with the ladies by setting him up on a date with a normal woman, but to meet her they have to enter the deep dark woods.
What better time to discuss a campfire tale about a killer with a hook for a hand and the real life counterpart who prowled the Burroughs of New York in the 60s, 70s and 80s? A killer who became intertwined with the already terrifying urban legend.
It's time to talk about the legend of Cropsey and his real life counterpart Andre Rand, A.K.A. Frank Bruchette.
It's time to tantalize those teeny tiny tingly ears with this historic eighth episode of I Fought the Lore, available where ever fine podcasts are found.

The Devil Went Down to Jersey
Mobsters dumping bodies aren't the only thing you need to worry about in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey.
Ben and Ricco find out just how scary these woods can be when you've pissed off a legendary horse-headed, winged monstrosity with an axe to grind.
But is it real, or just an urban legend? The (Jersey) Devil is in the details in this week's story of religious and political slander, neighborhood gossip, demon horse monsters, the 13th child and the intense rivalry in the world of almanac publishing.

Ho Lotta Dag In Them Woods
It's time to fight fire with campfire as Ben & Ricco look to tales of old timey lumberjacks for help with a certain devil stalking them. Can a fearsome creature that once roamed the deep woods be called up to help the boys in their hour of need? Pull up a seat, pour a drink or just keep your eyes on the road get an earful about the Squonk, the Squidgicum and the Hodag.
